With his first-hand knowledge of the NHS, as a working hospital doctor, Dr Dan has long been an advocate of the return of 7 day GP services and has taken action to change things for the better. He has been working closely with our local GPs and healthcare teams for some time to extend GP and pharmacy opening hours, and to improve surgery facilities in areas including Claydon and Barham and North West Ipswich.

His efforts have been successful when it was announced that Suffolk succeeded in getting £2 million extra Government cash to begin to start the locally run, 7 days a week GP service that patients deserve, which will start with a new 7 GP care facilities for patients in Ipswich.

Daniel Poulter: One of the issues that I hope the Government will look at in the review is the voluntary conduct of employers and whether they want to support additional leave for parents of premature babies. We must remember that a baby could be born at 24 weeks, which is many months before its due date. The problem with voluntary codes is that, although some employers might be exemplars, many might not be....
