Barham & Claydon Surgery Open Day

Dan was delighted to be able to attend the Surgery Open Day along with local Councillor John Whitehead.

Here Dan was able to see the refreshed surgery and join with Silver Star a registered charity who campaign to raise diabetes awareness. They run mobile testing units to carry out important diabetes checks within the community.

Dan along with over 100 local residents was able to take the test and find out the results in under two minutes.

Dan commented

"Diabetes is a condition which if undiagnosed can cause lifelong, debilitating health problems and can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and heart attack. A simple blood test can provide vital early diagnosis which may help people who didn't know they have the condition to get the right medical support and make the diet and lifestyle changes which can make a difference in reducing health consequences of having diabetes. I would urge people in Suffolk to follow my example and get tested to see if they may be at risk of diabetes. It doesn't take long to get a sinple blood sugar test from your GP or practice nurse, but it could make a big difference to your life."

I know she...
