Last week, Dan visited the Highfield Children’s Centre at Bramford Lane, Ipswich, where he met with mums and dads before being given a tour of the facility, which opened last year.
Surestart centres such as Highfield offer a range of services for families with young children, during what can be a challenging time for many parents. Parents can seek advice on issues ranging from children’s health to housing benefit or simply chat to other parents in a friendly environment. The centre works closely with other local service providers and also offers an outreach service which helps to support parents in their own homes. The staff and volunteers do a fantastic job at Highfield Children’s Centre and Dan would like to thank Sheri Wilkes and her team for taking the time to show him around the centre.
