Dr Dan pays visit to Framlingham Library

Dr Dan made a call at Framlingham Library, one of the many libraries that face closure by the county council unless a viable solution to make up the funding shortfall can be found locally.

Dr Dan knows that community libraries are a vitally important resource, especially for young and older people and he will do all he can to ensure that all the libraries in his constituency stay open. In Framlingham the town council is looking to take on the running of the library.

Dr Dan discussed these plans with the Librarian, Leslie Clouting, and continues to take an active interest in the future of Framlingham Library.

Daniel Poulter: My hon. Friend makes a fair point, although it is difficult for a board that has effectively had a merger foisted on it to appreciate fully how a hospital will run across two sites—or even three sites, with Orpington as well. I am sure the Minister will go away and think about that in the context of the PFI and whether something more could be done to help with the PFI debt.
