Dr Dan presents Gold Standards Award to Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home

Dr Dan with James Cantrell and staff at the Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home to present the Gold Standards AwardDan regularly writes about how the single biggest challenge facing Suffolk is properly caring for our growing older population. Our care homes have a vital role to play in meeting this challenge and Dan was recently delighted to visit Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home in Saxtead to present staff with the Gold Standards Framework Care Homes Accreditation Award, which recognises the achievement of high quality care for people nearing the final years of life. The award, which is open to all 20,724 care homes in Britain has only been achieved by 288 to date. Foxearth Lodge is 1 of only 65 care homes to have received the award at ‘Beacon Status’, the highest grade possible. The Gold Standards Framework award is a mark of excellence and Dan would like to pay tribute to the hard work and effort that James and Hayley Cantrell, along with all their staff, have put in to achieve this remarkable award.

Despite the cost of tickets from Ipswich, reliability and speed of service have not improved over the years....
