Dr Dan supports local businesses in Framlingham

Dan is great supporter of our local businesses and often takes time out of his busy schedule to meet with local shop owners and staff when he’s back home in Suffolk. Last week, he visited Framlingham, where he met with local businessman Bill Bulstrode before walking round the market town to meet with store owners.

Amongst the small independent shops he visited were Leo’s Deli, Sarah Cole Jewellers and Hall Farm Butchers, which sells fresh, locally sourced and slaughtered Suffolk meat. Dan stopped to chat to the staff and to listen to their concerns, and he was delighted to see them all doing their bit for Comic Relief. In spite of the challenging economic climate, Framlingham’s businesses continue to thrive, thanks to the efforts of local people like Bill Bulstrode, who works tirelessly to bring the local community and its shops together.

Dan would like to thank Bill for taking the time to show him around the various stores and he very much looks forward to visiting Framlingham again soon.

It is hard to deliver that when we have a taxpayer-funded NHS and a social care system in which many people now have to pay for their own care. In looking for a...

Offensive Weapons Bill: Ipswich-London Rail Fares (15 Oct 2018)
Daniel Poulter: I thank my hon. Friend’s welcome news on capping rail fares, but does he not also agree that it is difficult for customers to disaggregate the cost of the fare—those in Ipswich are very high per mile by national standards—from reliability and speed of service? Despite the cost of tickets from Ipswich, reliability and speed of service have not improved over the years....
