Dr Dan visits residents at the Mills Meadow Care Home in Framlingham

Dr Dan with staff and residents at the Mills Meadow Care Home in Framlingham Dan was delighted to meet with staff, volunteers and residents at the Mills Meadow care home when he visited Framlingham last week. Mills Meadow care home provides residential and day care to older people, including dementia patients, from the Framlingham area and currently has 33 beds along with a wellbeing community centre that residents can use.

Dan was shown round the care home, which is currently being expanded to support 60 residents now that the management of the home has been transferred from Suffolk County Council to Care UK. He also enjoyed talking to residents and spent time answering their questions.

As part of Care UK’s plans, a brand new wellbeing day care centre is being developed at Mills Meadow, which will give residents who still live in their own homes the chance to meet with other people and to receive specialist care and support.

Ensuring that older people (and their families) are treated with compassion and dignity as they approach the end of their lives is something that Dan strongly believes in, both your local MP and a Government Health Minister. Care homes like Mills Meadow have a vital role to play in providing the type of personalised care that enables older people to live as independently as possible. The staff at Mills Meadow work diligently to look after the elderly residents and Dan would like to thank them for the dedicated work.
