Mendlesham – Not just a village

Small businesses are the back bone of the economy. Dan paid a visit to Treeincarnated, a family owned furniture maker who uses traditional skills and local Suffolk wood to make hand crafted furniture. They make and restore the unique Mendlesham chair.

Dan is delighted to support a thriving local business, doing well in the 21st century but keeping alive long-established skills and techniques in the heart of Suffolk. Dan can be seen discussing how the Mendlesham chair is constructed with business owner Jeremy Lain.

Daniel Poulter: My hon. Friend makes a fair point, although it is difficult for a board that has effectively had a merger foisted on it to appreciate fully how a hospital will run across two sites—or even three sites, with Orpington as well. I am sure the Minister will go away and think about that in the context of the PFI and whether something more could be done to help with the PFI debt.
