A regular visitor to Whitehouse Community Primary School, Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP, Dr Dan Poulter today enjoyed meeting with staff and pupils to learn more about their progress and their experience of learning during the Covid pandemic.
During the visit, Dr Poulter learned more about the current School Street consultation, aiming to improve road safety, and he also enjoyed a tour of the school. He also heard from Head Teacher, Mrs Hall, that the school have just been awarded a Silver: Rights Aware accreditation under Unicef’s Rights Respecting Schools scheme. The awards recognise a school’s achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child into practice within the school and beyond.
Commenting on the visit, Dr Poulter said “It’s always rewarding to see our children and young people so motivated in their learning and it was clear to see that they very much enjoy their time at the school. My congratulations also go to Mrs Hall, her team and all the pupils at Whitehouse Community Primary School in achieving their silver Unicef Rights Respecting Schools award.”
