Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP, Dr Dan Poulter today met with local residents to discuss safety concerns at Needham Market railway bridge.
For many years, residents have been concerned that the narrow road under the bridge is an accident waiting to happen and many of Dr Poulter's constituents have been in touch to raise their concerns. The bridge is only wide enough for a single vehicle to pass through and the visibility approaching from either side is highly restricted. Vehicles approach at inappropriate speeds and often have to brake sharply or reverse to avoid a collision.
During the visit, whilst talking to residents, Dr Poulter witnessed a "near miss" and he has pledged to support residents in trying to bring about improvements.
