A regular visitor to Café 66 in Kesgrave, our local MP, Dr Dan Poulter enjoyed a little time out from his busy schedule to drop in for a cup of tea and a chat with local councillors, Stuart Lawson and Debbie McCallum, as well as to support the team at Café 66.
During a recent visit, the coffee machine at the Café needed to be replaced and thanks to the generosity of Cllr Stuart Lawson, via East Suffolk Council’s Enabling Communities Fund, the new coffee machine has now been installed and was put to good use during the visit.
Café 66 is a friendly community café which is open to members of the public and is staffed by young people with learning difficulties. It offers them a unique opportunity to learn valuable skills in a supportive environment. The Café instils a huge sense of pride and improves the young peoples’ interpersonal skills and self-confidence. A number of volunteers support the young people and help with the café duties.
