Returning for the second ever Wickham Market Community First Responder’s Annual Scarecrow Competition, local MP Dr Dan Poulter was delighted to have been asked to judge this year’s entries.
The popular competition has raised hundreds of pounds for Wickham Market’s Community First Responders, who are on call all year round to help residents in need, before the emergency services arrive on scene after receiving a 999 call. All of the First Responders are volunteers, who also have other jobs.
Dr Dan said “I was delighted to support Wickham Market’s Community First Aid Responders for a second year running. The First Aid Responders relying solely on their own fund raising to pay for uniforms, mobile phones and defibrillators. They offer a vital service, not least of all, because emergency services can take a little longer accessing rural locations and prompt treatment can literally offer a lifeline to those in need.”
