A regular visitor to Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Dr Poulter enjoyed meeting Year 12 Politics students today to talk about devolution, the Covid vaccination programme and mental health services in Suffolk.
During the Question and Answer session, students had the opportunity to learn more about the role of an MP, both in Westminster and here in the Central Suffolk and North Ipswich constituency.
Dr Dan was welcomed by Head Teacher, Mr Philip Hurst, before joining the group of students for an in-depth and varied Question and Answer session, with questions focussing on the pandemic and vaccination programme, devolution and Scottish policy, health services in Suffolk, particularly NHS dentists and mental health services for young people. The group of students were incredibly engaged with current politics and enjoyed putting their many and challenging questions directly to their local MP.
Speaking about the visit, Dr Dan added that "It's great to see these fantastic students so engaged with politics and the wider issues, especially putting forward such carefully considered and well-informed questions. Thomas Mills High School always offers me an incredibly warm welcome and it was good to see such excellent progress at the school, under the leadership of Mr Hurst and his team.
