Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP, Dr Dan Poulter was delighted today to formally launch the annual festivities in Framlingham, with the official switch on of the town’s Christmas tree lights.
Following a lantern procession behind Father Christmas, hundreds then gathered on the market hill joining in a countdown with Dr Poulter to light up the town’s Christmas tree.
With the local shops open late, many took advantage of the opportunity to kickstart their Christmas shopping, with lots of festive craft activities on offer for younger visitors.
Dr Poulter thanked Framlingham Town Council, local Councillor Maurice Cook and the many volunteers, such as Rachel Chesman, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event such a huge success.
