Dan recently attended a public meeting in Hacheston where many local residents turned out to voice their concerns about plans to build what would be one of the largest solar farms in Europe, spanning around 150 acres of farmland. Developers Hive Energy are currently consulting on proposals to create a solar park in Hacheston that would produce 35 Mega Watts of renewable energy. As an MP, Dan is unable to directly intervene in local planning matters, however he shares residents concerns as a project of this scale would have an enormous impact on our rural environment in Suffolk.
Dan has welcomed the fact that the Government is backing Suffolk as a nationally recognised leader in developing the green economy, which will deliver 5,000 local jobs for people across the county, but being one of the greenest counties also means protecting our most vulnerable asset – our beautiful countryside, for future generations.
