Last week, Dan visited Whitton United FC to take part in a meeting with Dean Potter of the Football Foundation, along with Chris Walsh, County Development Manager for Suffolk Football Association, and Lucky Singh from Whitton United. Since becoming your MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, Dan has always been a great supporter of Whitton United, which provides a shining example of a valuable community asset that has harnessed the power of sport to bring together people of all ages in North Ipswich. As well as looking after more than 250 youngsters in its youth team, the Club has provided an excellent service to the community by allowing its clubhouse to be used for bingo nights, and other functions and community events.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Lucky Singh, the team at Whitton United and McDonald’s owner Mark Richards, the Club now has a new stand and improved function rooms. However, the Club is in great need of a resurfaced driveway to enable more people, of all ages, to use it as a community hub and at the meeting with Dean Potter, Chris Walsh and Lucky Singh, Dan discussed ways in which the Club can access funding for this. He shall continue to do all he can to support Whitton United.
