Dan had the opportunity to see the very best of Suffolk last week when he attended the opening of the new village hall at Offton and Willesham. The official opening of the hall was performed by the oldest resident Percy Thorpe and marked the culmination of twenty years of hard work by members of the local community, who have come together to deliver such an excellent community project for the benefit of all local residents.
Residents who volunteer and selflessly devote some of their time to help deliver projects such as the new village hall at Offton and Willehsam form the lifeblood of our local communities in Suffolk, and help to give our county its unique identity. Dan was particularly pleased to see so many local residents present at the official opening of the hall, which was built in 2010 and contains a wide range of modern facilities, including a large main room, a meeting room and kitchen with all mod cons. He would like extend his thanks to Chris Storey, along with members of the village hall committee, who have worked so hard to drive this project forward. He would also like to thank all those who helped to fund the new hall, along with local councillor Steve Wright and Suffolk County Council, for being supportive of the project. He is sure it will serve the village well in the years ahead.
