Dan recently visited Westbourne Library to see the refurbishment work that was recently undertaken to restore the library to its original 1948 appearance. The exterior of the library has been re-painted white, using brushes and paint purchased with funds raised from the recent Friends of Westbourne Library (FWL) and Broomhill Pool Trust (BPL) Broomhill summer fete.
Westbourne Library was selected as one of 14 public libraries in Suffolk to take part in a pilot scheme as part of Suffolk County Council’s new approach to supporting existing libraries across the county. Suffolk County Council will be working with community groups such as the Friends of Westbourne Library, to ensure that an effective business plan is put in place to secure the long-term future of the library. Dan is a great supporter of Westbourne Library and would like to commend Gareth Jones for all of his hard work in leading the Westbourne Library pilot scheme.
