Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, Dr Dan Poulter, met residents in Barking to lend his support to their campaign to protect Barking Tye from the march of pylons, currently proposed under National Grid's East Anglia Green project,
Residents are concerned at the loss of landscape and amenity across Barking Tye in particular, but also the close proximity of the proposed pylons to their property and across the landscape. Dr Poulter shares these concerns, but is also worried that consultation with the Ministry of Defence in relation to nearby Wattisham Air Base also appears to have so far been lacking. Under current proposals, there will be significant operational challenges for Wattisham and Dr Poulter is continuing to support residents in their fight against the pylons and the blight they would cause.
