Dr Dan Poulter visits Stradbroke High School

With the new school year just getting underway,  Stradbroke High School were only too pleased to welcome their local MP, Dr Dan Poulter, and students had the opportunity to learn more about the role of an MP, both in Westminster and here in the Central Suffolk and North Ipswich constituency.

Dr Dan was welcomed by new Head, Karen Millar, before joining a group of over 60 students for an in-depth and varied talk, followed by a Question and Answer session, with questions focussing on Brexit policy, topical and environmental matters, career choices and student tuition fees.  The cohort of students were incredibly engaged with current politics and enjoyed putting their many and challenging questions directly to their local MP.

After talking with the students, Dr Dan added that "It's always gratifying to see our outstanding students and young adults here in Suffolk so engaged with politics and the wider issues, especially putting forward such carefully considered and well informed questions. Stradbroke High School always offers me an exceptionally warm welcome and it was abundantly clear that the students had very carefully considered their views in preparing their challenging questions."
