Many of Suffolk’s villages and towns have been holding their annual summer fetes in recent weeks and Dan was delighted to go along to support the Broomhill Summer Fete at Westbourne Library last week, where the unseasonal weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the many residents who attended. A range of activities provided hours of entertainment for people of all ages, including a bouncy castle, live music and the traditional raffle and prize draw. All of the proceeds raised on the day will go to Westbourne Library and the Broomhill pool.
Since Dan was elected as your local MP, he has worked closely with Mark Ling and the Broomhill Trust to help it in its bid to re-open the Broomhill pool, which is one of only 13 Grade II listed lidos in the UK, and remains strongly supported by the local community in north Ipswich. Leisure company Fusion Lifestyle are now working with Ipswich Borough Council to develop a strategy to restore and run the pool, which involves securing National Lottery funding. Dan would like to thank Mark Ling for showing him around the fete, and looks forward to continuing his support of the Broomhill Trust in the weeks and months ahead.
