Dan was delighted to visit Debenham to switch on the Christmas lights. A traditional lantern-carrying procession made its way to the St Mary Magdalene church, before seasonal carols were sung and people filled the local pub, cafe’s and wide variety of shops, which stayed open late.
The large turnout from the local community in Debenham is a tribute to the hard work put in by the shop owners who generously kept their doors open until late, along with those who gave up their free time to help set up the evening’s activities and donated money to support local charities on the night. Dan regularly visits Debenham, which stands out together with other towns such as Framlingham as an example of how people in Suffolk can come together for the benefit of the local community.
