Dan has spoken before of how businesses in Suffolk form the lifeblood of our local economy. Last week he attended a meeting of the local Suffolk Federation of Small Businesses, along with his fellow Suffolk MPs, to discuss some of the main issues affecting businesses across the county.
A number of key issues were discussed at the meeting, including an update on Suffolk’s plans for the roll-out of high speed broadband across the county by 2015. The contract for delivering high speed broadband in Suffolk goes out to tender later this year, and Dan would encourage as many residents as possible, if you have not already done so, to show your support by filling out the Better Broadband for Suffolk survey, available from local parish councils and local libraries. The importance of properly supporting our local abattoirs in Suffolk was also raised at the meeting and Dan highlighted the work he has been doing to bring these issues concerning the unnecessary regulation of farmers and butchers to the attention of Government Ministers. The meeting was very useful and Dan will continue to fight on behalf of Suffolk’s businesses in the weeks and months ahead in Parliament.
