Last week, Dr Dan took time out from his Parliamentary duties to join colleagues, including Labour MP Chris Bryant, in a charity rugby match against a team from the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff. The match helped to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK.
Dr Dan was delighted that, like the England team, the UK Parliament XV managed to beat the Welsh Assembly team by a margin of 17-5. Sport has enormous potential to raise money for good causes and to bring people from all backgrounds together.
Dr Dan will be taking time out again this summer to play in the annual charity rugby match at Hadleigh to raise money for Help for Heroes.
