Dan regularly meets with young people in Ipswich and Suffolk to hear their views and concerns and it was a pleasure for him to visit Claydon High School last week to talk with a group of students about life as both a doctor and an MP.
He answered questions on a range of issues, ranging from university tuition fees to the economy and local transport concerns. The students also updated him on their road saftey campaign, which aims to prevent accidents occurring for cyclists by raising awareness about cycle safety and making high-visibility clothing and accessories more appealing to a young age group. Under Headteacher Sarah Skinner, Claydon High School has gone from strength to strength and now hosts regular journalism workshops, public speaking competitions and field trips as part of its specialist humanities status.
Dan would like to thank Assistant Headteacher Alison Chilvers for welcoming him to the school, along with all of the students who took part in the question and answer session, land he looks forward to visiting again.
