A regular visitor to Kesgrave High, Dr Poulter was welcomed by Head Miss Upton and a group of politics students for a visit and dedicated Q&A session.
Following the meeting with Miss Upton, students were keen to put their questions to Dr Poulter. They discussed the role of the MP in weighing up all information when voting in the House of Commons. They were keen to discover Dr Poulter’s views on local issues such as the impact that the construction of Sizewell C will have on the area, in terms of both local infrastructure strain and climate change more broadly. Another area of concern was how to encourage more female uptake of STEM subjects and whether Suffolk could provide good employment opportunities for women in STEM in the future.
Dr Poulter very much enjoyed visiting the school and meeting with the students, and he looks forward to visiting again soon.
