Local MP, Dr Dan Poulter visits local food producer, Gressingham Duck

In light of proposed changes to the UK’s immigration system, Dr Poulter visited Gressingham Duck at their Debach base to discuss concerns around seasonal labour and immigration controls.

Founded in 1971, Gressingham remains a family run business, producing high quality Red Tractor assured duck, but the company has also expanded to include turkeys and geese for the Christmas market. Gressingham has become one of the UK’s leading poultry firms, producing some 15% of the UK’s Christmas turkeys.

Employing over 600 staff, the availability of seasonal labour is paramount to production at Gressingham and Dr Dan will be doing all that he can to ensure that the agricultural sector is represented fairly under new immigration rules.
