Dr Dan Poulter, Member of Parliament for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, was delighted to officially open a brand new kitchen at Laxfield All Saints CEVA Primary School, as staff, parents and pupils started a week of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the current school building.
A cooked breakfast was provided for guests on Monday (5th) morning as the new kitchen, which cost £30,000 to build, was formally unveiled. A portion of the funding for the new facility was raised by the Friends of Laxfield All Saints Primary School. A new community library will also be opened on Wednesday at the school.
Speaking on his way to Westminster after the opening, Dr Poulter said; ‘I always enjoy visiting our local schools in Suffolk and it was therefore a pleasure to be invited to officially open the new kitchen at Laxfield All Saints CEVA Primary School, during the start of an exciting week for everyone associated with the school.
‘It was a pleasure to speak to the staff and pupils and I would like to thank Headteacher David Dee for asking me to cut the ribbon on this excellent facility that will serve the school well for years to come.’
Headteacher David Dee, said; ‘We were thrilled that Dr Poulter, as a valued friend of the school, was able to join us to open our new kitchen.’
