Dr Dan Poulter, MP took a North Ipswich school’s campaign to No.10 Downing Street last week when he presented Prime Minister David Cameron with artwork made by pupils at Dale Hall Community Primary School.
The brightly coloured artwork created by all the children in years 3 to 6 was made as part of the international ‘Send My Friend to School’ campaign, which was established by the United Nations Global Campaign for Education to raise awareness of the need to provide free education to all school aged children across the world by 2015.
Dr Poulter said; ‘I was delighted to show the Prime Minister what the pupils at Dale Hall Community Primary School have done to raise awareness about this very important issue.
‘The children of Dale Hall Community Primary School have highlighted the vital importance of providing education for all children across the world because education empowers them to escape poverty and improve their own lives as well as the lives of others in their community.’
‘The Prime Minister was very impressed by the children’s involvement in the campaign and agreed that the teachers and children at Dale Hall Primary deserve to be commended for their efforts in creating such excellently designed artwork for such a worthy cause.’
