Suffolk MP, Dr Dan Poulter, was today delighted to visit local housing charity – The Day Foundation, in Coddenham, Suffolk.
The Day Foundation is a private housing charity, comprising twenty purpose-built properties in Coddenham, offering independent living to local people aged over 55 years, who are no longer able to stay in their own home, but who wish to remain living locally and independently.
In 2018, the charity purchased two properties in the heart of Coddenham High Street with the ambition of creating two affordable housing units specifically for local young people who wish to remain living locally, but who would otherwise struggle to get onto the housing ladder.
The two cottages, known as Rosie's Cottages in memory of one of the charity's beloved trustees, are now fully restored and home to two young couples and Dr Dan was honoured to have been invited to officially open the properties, alongside Suffolk's High Sheriff – Rosalind Eminson.
After opening the properties, Dr Dan very much enjoyed seeing for himself the sympathetically restored properties, before going on to meet Trustees and residents at nearby Haysel House in Coddenham.
